Concept

The idea

A family of residential heating-device concepts combining lower electricity demand targets, distinctive form factors, thermal comfort and contemporary product design while keeping device geometry and internal know-how confidential.

  • Novel residential heating-device concepts
  • Energy-conscious operating architecture
  • Distinctive form factor and interior integration
  • Device geometry and internal know-how remain confidential

How the project could develop

From idea to practical implementation.

01

What the project addresses

Create residential heating devices that can improve energy-conscious thermal comfort while avoiding the visual and conceptual limitations of conventional heating hardware.

02

Our approach

Develop the device as a combined product-design and engineering problem: thermal behaviour, electricity use, form factor, materials, controls, installation context and user experience are considered together. Public imagery is intentionally non-literal so the actual device appearance remains confidential.

03

Possible applications

Potential pathways include appliance manufacturing partnerships, licensing, co-development, OEM/ODM engineering and market-specific product adaptation.

Possible next steps

Possible directions for further work.

Further work can take different forms depending on the project, its stage and its goals. Possible steps include:

  1. 01
Thermal targetClarify the objective, intended user and what a useful result would look like.
  2. 02
Product architectureDevelop a practical technical concept and, where relevant, a workable implementation or commercial model.
  3. 03
Prototype testingExplore the main uncertainties using the method best suited to the project: calculations, prototype work, data review or a pilot.
  4. 04
Manufacturing & scale-upUse what is learned to decide whether and how to move forward — independently, with partners or through another route.

Collaboration

Potential collaborators.
